Coaching

The club has the services of two well-known and highly qualified coaches, who teach both juniors and adults.

Gary Powell coaches primarily junior players from 7 years upwards and has a list of outstanding achievements up to and including national champions at various age groups.

Jinny Tejrar coaches both junior and adult players of all abilities and has had considerable personal success as a player at county, national and international levels.

Both coaches are fully insured, licensed and DBS certified. For lessons, please contact the coaches directly : Gary Powell, (01242 525663); Jinny Tejrar (m. 07979 895737, h. 01242 677901).

The club welcomes membership and coaching arrangements with schools and groups in the area.

Competitions

The club does not currently operate a schedule of internal competitions, as members prefer to make their own arrangements with
other players. However, occasional matches are arranged with other clubs on an ad hoc basis. At present, the club does not enter teams in the county leagues, although this is under ongoing review.

Racketball is regularly played at the club.  This is a variant of squash and is somewhat less demanding, particularly for beginners and older players, although it is rapidly becoming popular with experienced squash players.  There are weekly group sessions where players can turn up without notice and participate on a ’round robin’ basis.
