Churches Together in Charlton Kings is a visible way of the local churches coming together to deepen their communion with Christ and with one another, and proclaim the Gospel together by common witness and service. Its strength comes from people from different traditions finding new ways to work and worship together.

Representatives from Holy Apostles, Charlton King Baptists, St Mary’s and Sacred Hearts organise:

  • Local ‘Song of Praise’
  • Service of Christian Unity
  • Good Friday Walk of Witness
  • Christian outreach

The committee meets 3 or 4 times a year

Sacred Herats parish representative is Sheila Morgan. Tel 01242 237239

Her role is to help make sure that Sacred Hearts parishioners are aware of events and encouraging involvement, through inserts in the newsletter and word of mouth.

The Church Neighbours Committee is organized by St Mary’s parishioners, with representatives also from Sacred Hearts, Holy Apostles, Baptist and Fellowship parishes.

The group distributes Christmas and Easter cards, with times of services, to all homes in Charlton Kings.

Members also distribute welcome packs to new neighbours with infomation regarding services.

There are two or three meetings a year, usually at the St Mary’s Parish Centre.

The committee members offer each other mutual support, take care to ensure that information about services is current and useful, and arrange for the printing and prompt delivery of the cards and welcome packs.
