Bequests
People wishing to make provision in their wills for the benefit of the diocese may find the following wording helpful:

“I give free of all taxes the sum of £ ….. (or residue of my estate) to the Trustees of Clifton Diocese of St Ambrose, North Road, Leigh Woods, Bristol BS8 3PW, for the general charitable purposes of the diocese and I declare that the receipt of the Diocesan Financial Administrator or other proper officer of the Clifton Diocese shall be a good and sufficient discharge of my Executors.”

If you wish to leave money for a particular diocesan purpose the following request should be added after “general charitable purposes”:

“with the request but without imposing any trust that the same be used where possible for the purposes of ……….. Priests’ Retirement Fund or Education and Training of Priests or Poor Parishes of the Diocese etc.”

Our registered charity number is 233977.
